Bruins Win Seventh Straight as Pastrnak Scores 400th Goal | Snap Shot 61

With both teams having taken one neither side will want to give an inch at least, I hope. The question is who will be a net for this matchup and how will the Bruins fare against the new look Montreal Canadians team this weekend. This is a Bruins tape to tape snapshot.

0:33 Speaker 2: The Boston Bruins played the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night, just four days after playing them in Toronto on Saturday and beating them by a score of five to three. As you may recall, Anthony Stolars was pulled in the game on Saturday night and the Toronto Maple Leafs faced the same result on Tuesday night against the Bruins, another five to three lost by the Leafs win by the Bruins. 1:04 Speaker 2: The game started with Toronto being extremely undisciplined in the first period and taking a good number of penalties, and the Bruins capitalized and took a three to one lead into the locker room at the end of the first period. I will say, however, that there was an egregious, egregious turnover on one of the power plays by Charlie McAvoy that led to a shorthanded goal by the Maple Leafs in that first period, and I would have loved to have Jeremy Swayman make a save on that goal. But be that as it may, the Bruins pretty much dominated the play again against the Maple Leafs for most of the game.

1:48 Speaker 2: The Maple Leafs showed a little bit of push in the third period, where they did end up getting the score too, four to three. However, the game was not only a lot in the win lose column. The Maple Leafs also lost their star Austin Matthews to a crushing hit from Nikita's Adorov, and it seems like Nikita's Adorov is on a mission to single handedly let the league know that the Bruins are ready to play whatever game the opposing team wants to play. You want to play a physical game, we'll play a physical game.

And I absolutely love that brand of hockey, and of course David Pastronach cemented his name further in the history books of the Boston Bruins franchise by scoring goals four hundred and four hundred and one, and there was a lot of praise being levied at David pastronach across the league. I believe that Wayne Gretzky compared him to Gee lafleur In someone else whose name is escaping me compared Pasta to Alex Ovechkin. Either way, we are damn lucky to have a player of this caliber as a member of the Boston Bruins franchise for the foreseeable future.

3:16 Speaker 2: As I said, the Maple Leafs tried to make the game interesting in the third period, and I'm not quite sure what tig Domi was thinking trying to challenge or offering a fight with Nikita Zadorov. But good on Nikita Zadorov for not taking the bait, and that shows me that he is growing into a leadership role by leaps and bounds this season. So all in all, another crucial two points for the Boston Bruins as they get ready to once again face the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

All you need to know is that Almark continues to struggle among starting goaltenders. The question here is which goalie is going to be a net After the Sens, it's onto the Habs, the Bruins most hated of rivals of the twentieth century, but less so in the twenty first. Much of that has been attributed to the fact that the Habs have not had a competitive team in quite some time.

Competitive rivals are what makes good hot, And if this means hoping, the Habs finally have a decent team that can sustain it for the next couple of years then by all means, So what's the deal with the Habs thus far?

5:11 Speaker 1: Well, Patrick Lney is still out for the Habs, and he has been since October eighteenth, but in terms of offensive power it doesn't seem to matter. The Habs have been in the black for goal differentials all season and they currently hold a plus seven, down from a recent season high of plus eleven. Cole Caulfield, Oliver Kapnan and Kirby Dock all continue to be snipers in all situations. Alex Newhook is particularly dangerous on the power play and he has the team's second highest goals count with six.

5:46 Speaker 1: Callfield, no surprise, is first with twelve. This is important because the Bruins continue to struggle with staying out of the penalty box. The Habs also have an interesting goalie situation going on. As of November twelfth, Jakubdobash has played seven games, while Sam Montembau has played nine games. Monty was seen as the future for this Canadians team, but Dobosh is really giving him a run for his money. In nine games, Monty has found himself second to last among all starting goalies who have played at least seven games In goals save above expected, meaning he is seriously underperforming.

6:28 Speaker 1: Now indulge me a moment, just so you can truly appreciate how bad of a season he's having. Goals saved above expected measures how many goals a goalie prevented compared to what an average goalie would have allowed based on the quality of shots that they faced. Think of it this way. Every shot a goalie faces has an expected chance of going in. Some are higher and some are lower, thank backdoor one timer versus weak rister from the point. So what does this mean? One the goalie has struggled for a long stretch because the gsa X accumulates over time.

Since GSAX already accounts for shot quality, it means the goalie is stopping fewer pucks than the average goalie should given the same chances. And Three, if it's early in the season, it's still concerning. Even ten to fifteen games in a negative seven is pretty rough. Yes, you heard me right. Sam Montembau currently holds a negative seven GSAX. Meanwhile, Dobash is a plus six point four in his seven games. Monty has had the start for the last two games, and if he's in net for their game against Dallas before they face the Bruins, expect a much better do Bush in net and if you like old fashioned stats, he has a nine to twenty safe percentage and two point twenty five goals against average.
