Don and Cam Have Ruined the Boston Bruins | Snap Shots Episode 44
Liner notes
🎙️Boston lost yet another game over the weekend, with a loss against an Original 6 rival, the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings have been struggling since the break as well, going into the matchup with a 3-11-0 record. But their discount goalie proved to be the difference maker against the top-dollar Swayman. Brad Marchand also debuted with his new team down in Florida and Maria doesn't mince words when it comes to what she thinks of this Bruins management. What is left to look forward to besides Ovi's next game where he is likely to inch closer to breaking the Great One's goal scoring record?📲 Follow us on X, Instagram & Blue Sky ➡️ @TapetoTapeMK

Speaker 1: What's it like being a Boston Bruins fan these days?
Speaker 1: Picture this. It's like seeing all of your exes doing
Speaker 1: super well and getting engaged or having kids while you
Speaker 1: sit wrapped up in a comforter on the couch eating
Speaker 1: Ben and Jerry's from the carton. Thanks a lot, camon Don.
Speaker 1: This is a Bruins tape to tape snapshot.
Speaker 2: In my last snapshot, I accused the Boston Bruins of
Speaker 2: not playing with any type of emotion or pride, and
Speaker 2: that was not the case against the Detroit Red Wings
Speaker 2: on Saturday night. The Bruins came out with a good
Speaker 2: deal of emotion and fieriness. They had two fights right
Speaker 2: off the bat by Andrew Peak and Jacob Bloco, both
Speaker 2: of which, however, lost their fights, but that wasn't enough
Speaker 2: to propel them to a win, as they lost to
Speaker 2: the Detroit Red Wings by a score of two to one.
Speaker 2: The Detroit Redwings thirty seven year old goalie Cam Talbot,
Speaker 2: who is under contract for the tune of two point
Speaker 2: five million dollars, outplayed your twenty six year old goalie
Speaker 2: who was under contract to the tune of eight point
Speaker 2: two five million dollars. Cam Talbot is the reason that
Speaker 2: the Detroit Red Wings won that game, and your goalie
Speaker 2: is one of many reasons why we find ourselves on
Speaker 2: the outside looking in this season. The first goal by
Speaker 2: the Red Wings was the result of a horrendous, horrendous
Speaker 2: turnover by Mason Lorii, which we have come to expect, unfortunately,
Speaker 2: and that is part of his growth and development. However,
Speaker 2: Jeremy Swayman had a clue, an unencumbered look at this
Speaker 2: shot that came at him, and he was unable to
Speaker 2: make the save on his glove side. Now it's not
Speaker 2: just me levying criticism at Jeremy Swayman. Ray Ferraro himself
Speaker 2: said that was a bad goal for Swayman to let in,
Speaker 2: And if that was the first bad goal that Swayman
Speaker 2: had let in this season, I would let it go.
Speaker 2: But it is not, folks. We have seen him let
Speaker 2: in goals such as that throughout the course of this season.
Speaker 2: It is simply not good enough, not good enough Jeremy.
Speaker 2: Then we have Nikita Zadorov taking a stupid, stupid and
Speaker 2: unnecessary penalty and putting a Detroit Red Wings team on
Speaker 2: the power play, who has their power play has been
Speaker 2: tremendous all season long, and they are able to score
Speaker 2: a power play goal to put them up two to one.
Speaker 2: And there you have it, folks. And once again, if
Speaker 2: not for Morgan Geek and David Pasternach connecting in some way,
Speaker 2: shape or form to score goals for this team, the
Speaker 2: Bruins would literally have no scoring at all. And once
Speaker 2: again we find ourselves with the Boston Bruins team who
Speaker 2: only has one line that can score goals. And to that,
Speaker 2: I say to Don Sweeney and Cam Neely, excellent work.
Speaker 2: Excellent work, gentlemen. So Cam, let me ask you this
Speaker 2: when you sat down with the Boston Globe recently to
Speaker 2: do your little soft landing spot piece about how things
Speaker 2: have been going or not going, as the case may be,
Speaker 2: this season, and you said, quote unquote everything is on
Speaker 2: the table. Does that include yourself and Don Sweening in
Speaker 2: that bucket? If not, you both need to put yourselves
Speaker 2: in that bucket. And my last question to Cam would be,
Speaker 2: how did Brad mar Shand look in the Florida Panthers
Speaker 2: jersey in his debut Friday night when he set up
Speaker 2: the game winning goal in overtime?
Speaker 1: You idiots, The Bruins have been the worst team coming
Speaker 1: out of the break. And that's no hyperbole, that's a fact.
Speaker 1: We get it. There's nothing to look forward to anymore.
Speaker 1: Even Soako's level of expectation from this team has hit
Speaker 1: an all time low. When asked by Emily Kaplan how
Speaker 1: he thought a recent first period went, he responded with quote,
Speaker 1: I think it went great. The guy showed up, put
Speaker 1: on their skates, have their sticks. Can't ask for much
Speaker 1: more right now? Oh my god. After this past weekend
Speaker 1: game ind Troy, the Bees also put Vinnie Lettieri and
Speaker 1: Patrew Brown on waivers. They obviously cleared since it's that
Speaker 1: weird time between the trade deadline and playoffs, so don't
Speaker 1: expect any players that are put on waivers to be claimed,
Speaker 1: as they are not eligible to play for their new
Speaker 1: NHL club any time between now and the end of
Speaker 1: the season. This particular move was to send the two
Speaker 1: players back down to the AHL, which might mean that
Speaker 1: we see either some new players called up, someone might
Speaker 1: be coming back from an injury, or they were just
Speaker 1: clearing cap space and it was a paper transaction and
Speaker 1: we'll see them on Tuesday against Washington. April first is
Speaker 1: Women in Sports Night at the Garden and the Boston
Speaker 1: Bruins will recognize the members of the Northeastern women's hockey
Speaker 1: team who won this year's Being Pot Championship. Tuesday is
Speaker 1: also another opportunity to see history be made when Alex
Speaker 1: Ovechkin and the Washington Capitol come to town. Obi is
Speaker 1: five goals from breaking the record. While the Bees are
Speaker 1: pretty terrible right now, I can't really imagine him getting
Speaker 1: all five, but it's entirely within the realm of possibility
Speaker 1: if he gets three, if not four, this is the
Speaker 1: first game in a long time where I can confidently
Speaker 1: say it's a can't miss game. Make sure you rate
