5:10 Speaker 9: Because I think red Wings seemed like they were a

5:13 Speaker 9: little bit close and then kind of fell by the wayside,

5:17 Speaker 9: and then Columbus, I think it came down to literally

5:19 Speaker 9: what the last game, last two games?

5:21 Speaker 3: How are you feeling as it.

5:23 Speaker 4: Came it came down to the second to last today

5:25 Speaker 4: for the Blue Jacket my answer is simple, for it

5:30 Speaker 4: is the same for both. Why does it like my

5:40 Speaker 4: teams loved tortured me? But I mean I actually torture

5:42 Speaker 4: myself by having chosen the Bluejackets. Reddings I was born into,

5:45 Speaker 4: but Blue Jackets I chose for because I hate myself apparently.

5:49 Speaker 8: But.

5:51 Speaker 4: But no, I mean I experienced this last year where

5:54 Speaker 4: the Red Wings were literally the last day and like

5:57 Speaker 4: if you remember last season, the Blue they literally got

6:00 Speaker 4: eliminated because the Capital scored an empty net goal on

6:05 Speaker 4: the Flyers while they were playing while the Red Wings

6:09 Speaker 4: were playing in completely unrelated games. And then it can

6:12 Speaker 4: even worse. When the Flyers were still leading the Lucas Raymonds,

6:20 Speaker 4: it was David Prawn scored with three seconds left in

6:23 Speaker 4: regulation to tide a game and give the Red Ruings home.

6:26 Speaker 4: It's like, I've serisay native of the Blue Jackets. You

6:31 Speaker 4: know it's wrong, but Reddings I had already signed off

6:34 Speaker 4: a long time ago. I stopped believing in the Red

6:37 Speaker 4: Wings back in like I don't know that late February,

6:42 Speaker 4: the funeral had already gone I did. That's the second

6:45 Speaker 4: funeral of the season. The first funeral was in December.

6:49 Speaker 4: Because they looked like James Hagen. At this time, we

6:52 Speaker 4: thought it was James Saintanks would probably universal role. But

6:54 Speaker 4: you know no, we were like like in December, running

6:58 Speaker 4: stands were all already making up for for mock at

7:02 Speaker 4: jerseys for all the top five pick and debating over

7:07 Speaker 4: who we wanted the draft at first or second overall,

7:09 Speaker 4: Like people forget we are literally into bottom four in December,

7:14 Speaker 4: Like we were literally one of the worst teams.

7:17 Speaker 3: I thought that they were doing better. Maybe No, I

7:20 Speaker 3: don't know.

7:21 Speaker 2: It wasn't.

7:22 Speaker 4: It wasn't until it wasn't until we finally fire Lane,

7:25 Speaker 4: who I wanted to be fired well over a month ago.

7:29 Speaker 4: They actually started playing und Yeah, and then we got

7:32 Speaker 4: some hope and then they collapsed again. It looked like

7:36 Speaker 4: they did under the line again.

7:38 Speaker 3: Do you think that they took a step backwards this season?

7:43 Speaker 4: Oh yeah, this was this was like this was a

7:47 Speaker 4: just this wasn't just a step back. This was several

7:49 Speaker 4: steps back. They were worse in literally every single way.

7:54 Speaker 4: I mean, there is not a single thing that they're

7:57 Speaker 4: even close to touching from last year. The defense was

8:02 Speaker 4: somehow okay, it's not for the defense. I will say

8:04 Speaker 4: the defense was a bit better, and that's only because

8:07 Speaker 4: the defense could not be worse than last year when

8:10 Speaker 4: but it was still a marine cider and and maybe

8:14 Speaker 4: half a defenseman like Resider was the only consistently good

8:18 Speaker 4: one shot is good if he's on the bottom two pairings,

8:22 Speaker 4: but if he's on the top pairing, it's a disaster.

8:24 Speaker 4: And they kept putting him up up on the top

8:27 Speaker 4: pairing because he's the only defenseman with a pulse who

8:30 Speaker 4: was consistently, at least with a pulse that's familiar.

9:37 Speaker 9: for the draft lottery, right like it was the Badard

9:40 Speaker 9: lottery two years ago.

9:43 Speaker 3: Uh, and the Celebrini lottery last season. So has anyone

9:46 Speaker 3: heard anything of anyone? Yeah?

9:51 Speaker 10: Today NHL dot com has a couple of you got

9:54 Speaker 10: a cobjected to go number one, and then I know

9:57 Speaker 10: we've mentioned the kid's name, Mesa. It was also projected

10:02 Speaker 10: to go on the higher on the higher side.

10:07 Speaker 2: Yeah, there's looking at tanking.

10:09 Speaker 8: They've they've kind of tiered everybody out, So they got

10:12 Speaker 8: two tier one prospects in Matthew Schaeffer, who's the left defenseman,

10:16 Speaker 8: and then Misa, who's either a center or a left wing.

10:19 Speaker 8: And I don't know what you guys think, but hopefully

10:22 Speaker 8: you know, if the Bruins get a high pick, they

10:23 Speaker 8: don't go defense. So maybe they get the top pick

10:27 Speaker 8: and they trade it. Who knows, I don't know.

10:30 Speaker 4: Shafing is the best player in the draft pretty easily,

10:34 Speaker 4: but Misa potentially could go number one solely because he's

10:38 Speaker 4: a forward and a potential center. Oh. I think people

10:42 Speaker 4: are starting to come around to him being a winger

10:44 Speaker 4: in the NHL, but still forwards usually get taken higher

10:49 Speaker 4: than defenseman at the top of the draft. But Schaefer

10:52 Speaker 4: is the best player in the draft, Like, that's not

10:54 Speaker 4: really disputable.

10:55 Speaker 2: At this point.

10:57 Speaker 3: Where is he coming out of college?

11:00 Speaker 2: Job?

11:02 Speaker 4: Uh jor junior?

11:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what I would say.

11:07 Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, Well, I don't know who any of these

11:11 Speaker 9: folks are, so I will be paying attention and learning

11:13 Speaker 9: and this summer we'll get to know more of them

11:18 Speaker 9: when they show up in the development camps. But go ahead, Adrian, Yeah,

11:23 Speaker 9: I mean I'm looking at it. It seems like outside

11:25 Speaker 9: of Schaefer, nearly everybody in like the top seven or

11:29 Speaker 9: eight are forwards. So it bodes well for us.

11:34 Speaker 11: Yeah, it does where we need to be forward heavy

11:37 Speaker 11: draft behooves us.

11:41 Speaker 9: Really, is there anybody who seems like they could start

11:49 Speaker 9: in the NHL? Or is that not going to be

11:52 Speaker 9: the case this this draft years?

11:56 Speaker 3: Bananas face, I'm thinking no way.

12:00 Speaker 4: I mean maybe if Safer goes to the Sharks, yes,

12:05 Speaker 4: maybe the preditive we're desperate enough, depending what they do

12:08 Speaker 4: this off season. Outside of that, I mean, maybe there's

12:14 Speaker 4: a small chance of Mesa if he gets drafted by

12:17 Speaker 4: the by the Blackhawks. But other than that, like that's

12:21 Speaker 4: really it. There's yeah, I mean, yeah, it's not too

12:26 Speaker 4: likely for not any help.

12:28 Speaker 3: There there from.

12:29 Speaker 10: And again I haven't been paying as much attention as

12:31 Speaker 10: all the rest of you have, but from what I've

12:33 Speaker 10: seen and read and heard, there doesn't seem to be

12:38 Speaker 10: a generational talent coming out of this draft. And I

12:43 Speaker 10: guess when we use that phrase, you know, we're looking

12:46 Speaker 10: at you know, you know, players like you know, Sydney Crosby, Connibradards,

12:52 Speaker 10: you know, I don't even know, to be honest with

12:55 Speaker 10: you that I would call Jack Hu and Connor Badadde

13:02 Speaker 10: generational talents, you know, not Connor Bdard.

13:07 Speaker 3: I mean, I don't watch the Blackhawks.

13:08 Speaker 2: And no one does.

13:13 Speaker 4: Territory.

13:13 Speaker 13: But yeah, yeah, I mean I understand, I mean I

13:17 Speaker 13: hear in terms of like, you know, you look at

13:20 Speaker 13: you look at a guy like McDavid, Right, That's there's no.

13:25 Speaker 10: Disputing that that is a franchise altering player that changes,

13:31 Speaker 10: you know, the trajectory of your franchise. Have you seen

13:35 Speaker 10: that happen in these other instances yet?

13:39 Speaker 11: No, I don't think. I don't think Chicago is the

13:43 Speaker 11: depth to put around Bedard at all. So I think

13:47 Speaker 11: is as good as he is developmentally, he's been hindered

13:50 Speaker 11: a bit by the complete lack of of the support

13:53 Speaker 11: system that around him. And then whether when out I

13:57 Speaker 11: don't remember how Ichael or or David Fairred in their

14:01 Speaker 11: first or second seasons. I mean, I know what they

14:03 Speaker 11: are now, I know, I go floundered a little bit obviously.

14:08 Speaker 2: Now look where he was.

14:09 Speaker 11: I do wonder whether or not there is a correlation

14:12 Speaker 11: to be drawn between someone like Badard and Ikel based

14:18 Speaker 11: on the team they landed with.

14:20 Speaker 9: Right, So you know, yeah, that could be a fair

14:26 Speaker 9: a fair thing that ends up happening. But we've talked

14:28 Speaker 9: about it even just as outsiders. I can't wait for

14:32 Speaker 9: Don to go off the board and draft a projected

14:34 Speaker 9: third rounder in the top two probably probably well.

14:38 Speaker 10: And there's the other other, you know, sort of damnicles

14:43 Speaker 10: that's hanging over our head. Do we trust this management group?

14:51 Speaker 4: No?

14:53 Speaker 11: I mean no, I actually I actually have been thinking

14:59 Speaker 11: about that, and I kind of I kind of do.

15:02 Speaker 11: I mean, I think like it's because I think if

15:04 Speaker 11: you're drafting in the first round, you're it's it's easier,

15:09 Speaker 11: you know, so loose. There's like there's a lot more

15:12 Speaker 11: like like here's the list of the scouting reports that

15:15 Speaker 11: are the best people. You're picking among them, right, It's

15:17 Speaker 11: not like you're you're starting in the second or third

15:19 Speaker 11: round and being like, I don't know, what do you

15:21 Speaker 11: think this guy? So now, I I kind of am

15:28 Speaker 11: like if if you tack what the twenty fifteen draft

15:31 Speaker 11: or the one that everyone no one seems to want

15:33 Speaker 11: to like go of off the table, like I don't know,

15:37 Speaker 11: I'm not I'm not really I'm not really beating up

15:40 Speaker 11: about it. You know, we haven't drafted well over the

15:42 Speaker 11: last years because we haven't had the picks. We've been

15:45 Speaker 11: too good to get good picks, and we've traded those

15:49 Speaker 11: picks to stay competitive. So you can't stay competitive by

15:54 Speaker 11: trading picks and then turn around and be like, well

15:56 Speaker 11: we've got no one in the pool. Like that wasn't

15:58 Speaker 11: the plan. So, you know, now it's kind of a reset.

16:01 Speaker 11: We'll see how it goes. But I kind of I'm

16:04 Speaker 11: not you know, this management team for weird decisions they make.

16:09 Speaker 11: They're not necessarily in neckt at their jobs. They're actually

16:11 Speaker 11: pretty shrewd. We just have a tendency to get pissed.

16:16 Speaker 4: True.

16:17 Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't trust them, you know, And I mean

16:22 Speaker 10: I respect and understand what you're saying. I just have

16:26 Speaker 10: seen too long and too big of a sample size

16:29 Speaker 10: at this juncture.

16:31 Speaker 10: I think they are good at certain things. Don Sweeney

16:35 Speaker 10: is good at making hockey trades. I will grant him

16:38 Speaker 10: that he's good at making hockey trades. They are cutthroats

16:44 Speaker 10: and ruthless when it comes to negotiating contracts with their players,

16:49 Speaker 10: and I don't believe that they are above board and

16:52 Speaker 10: honest during the course of those negotiations. And I don't

16:58 Speaker 10: think that they have of the expertise that they need

17:03 Speaker 10: to identify what players they want, what players will fit,

17:10 Speaker 10: and what players they are actually going to spend time

17:13 Speaker 10: to develop. We've seen this countless times now, but you

17:18 Speaker 10: know there's always there's always next year, as the saying goes, right.

17:24 Speaker 9: Look, so I was gonna share my screen, but because
